Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. This policy explains how your information is collected, used, and protected.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy outlines how Jeanette The Gift ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information. By using this website or contacting Jeanette, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Personal details you provide (name, email, phone number, message content)
- Booking or enquiry information
- Your email address and consent record, if you join the mailing list (see section 4)
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device information
- Cookies and usage data to improve website performance
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to:
- Respond to your enquiries
- Send you event updates, if and only if you have asked us to (see section 4)
- Arrange readings, events, or bookings
- Improve website functionality and user experience
- Maintain records for legal or administrative purposes
4. Email Updates About Events
If you choose to join our mailing list, we collect only your email address and a record of your consent (including the date it was given). We use it for one purpose: to tell you about Jeanette's upcoming events and dates.
- We ask for your consent separately and specifically — joining the mailing list is never bundled into another form, and the box is never pre-ticked.
- Our lawful basis for sending these emails is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
- You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time, using the link in any email or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
- We will not sell, rent or share your email address, and we will not use it to send you anything other than event updates.
- We keep your address until you unsubscribe, or until the list is no longer used.
5. How We Protect Your Data
We take reasonable steps to safeguard your personal information, including secure communication channels, restricted access, and industry‑standard data protection practices. However, no online transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except:
- When required by law
- To comply with legal obligations or protect our rights
- To trusted service providers (e.g., email or form processing services)
7. Cookies & Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and events people find useful. No analytics cookie is set unless you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner. Until you do, Google Analytics is loaded in a consent-denied mode in which it stores nothing on your device and sends no measurement. We do not use analytics for advertising, and advertising storage and personalisation are switched off permanently.
If you accept, the following cookies are set on this website:
- _ga — distinguishes one visitor from another. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_WMJZWTKMMR — keeps track of a single visit (a “session”). Expires after 2 years.
We also store your cookie choice itself in your browser’s local storage, under jtg-consent. This is needed to remember your decision and is not used for any other purpose.
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, which acts as our data processor and may transfer data to Google LLC in the United States under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Google is not permitted to use this data for its own purposes. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4.
Changing your mind. You can withdraw or give consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Declining does not affect any part of this website — everything works exactly the same either way.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request corrections or updates
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
9. Contact Us
